Dry Eye Clinic
Dry eye can be caused by a multitude of factors such as deficiency in the tear film. The tear film is a layer that lubricates the outer portion of the eye known as the cornea. The tear film provides comfort and clarity in vision. The tear film consists of 3 layers which are the mucin layer, aqueous layer and lipid layer. The mucin layer is the closest in proximity to the cornea followed by the aqueous layer which is then protected by the lipid layer. Disruption in any layer can lead to dry eye symptoms.
Glaucoma Management
Glaucoma is a disease that damages the optic nerve, and can lead to vision loss if left untreated. In early stages, patients often have none- to- minimal symptoms, which makes it vital to have yearly comprehensive eye examinations to be screened for glaucoma.
At Harvard Square Eye Care, we have the latest technology in diagnosing and managing glaucoma, including the Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) and Visual Field testing machines. Our certified Glaucoma specialists are able to detect early signs of glaucoma, and provide treatment to prevent optic nerve damage and thus prevent vision loss.
