Lauren Dickerman, OD

Dr. Dickerman earned her Doctorate from the New England College of Optometry, a Master’s in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Political Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. During her education, she completed externships at Veterans Hospitals, including the VA Boston, VA Brockton, and New Hampshire Veterans Hospital, and later trained in local optometry and ophthalmology practices.

In 2002, Dr. Dickerman became the owner of Harvard Square Eye Care in Harvard Square (2000) and expanded the practice with locations in Davis Square (2007), Belmont (2015), and Martha’s Vineyard (2019). Alongside patient care, she oversees business development, employee mentoring, and human resources, with a priority of advancing women as business leaders. A member of the Massachusetts Society of Optometry and the American Optometric Association, Dr. Dickerman actively supports the community through organizations like Youth on Fire and Y2Y Youth Homeless Shelter, providing free eye exams to those in need. She also volunteers with Flying Doctors to deliver eye care in Peru and Nicaragua.
